Studio Florián

The aim of the project of family house with a photographic studio and a gallery is to solve the linking of the living and working functions and being in the harmony with the natural surroundings. It is to be desighned so as to be used by a family of four and it is located in the city of Pilsen. It is single-storey building which is fully accessible for people with disabilities.

The basic plan of the design is within the building to use circles, each having one allocated for a different function. The circles are arranged and combined in different variations. The transformation of circles into spheres allows a wide range of choices of use. I decided that the planar concept was more suitable for the design due to the simplicity of shapes and uses the acessiblitiy to roof that it created. It was essential to consider the effect of the different seasons and the variation of annual temperatures so that there will be a comfortable enviroment throughout the year. The use of alternatively sloping roofs fulfils the requirement of no part of the building being unusable.
