Jan Dürrer: THE VIRTUAL HOME

Jan Dürrer

THE VIRTUAL HOME

The pace of our lives is unstoppable and faster than ever before. The problems facing humanity are bigger and more serious. The only way out of the spiral of destruction is through technological progress, human ingenuity and creativity. Most inventions have historically had a positive effect on the development of society. The path to these inventions, however, was often haphazard, or led through the answering of questions that at the time were completely meaningless and incomprehensible. I believe that even a search for a virtual home may one day yield a surprising discovery, and if not, it certainly makes sense to try again and again. The point of this work is to inspire others to not be afraid to experiment and play, as I have done.

ROBOTIC PAVILION

The design principle assumes the use of robotic assembly and is based on the use of autonomous robots for assembly. These robots then become part of the structure itself. The system is designed to be able to quickly assemble a complex structure efficiently, without human intervention. The project involved designing a complex algorithm to design and optimize the shape of the pavilion.
